Simpson’s in the Strand
Covent Garden
Simpson’s in the Strand closed in 2020, having first opened its doors in 1828. At the beginning of 2026, just a few years short of its 200th anniversary, Jeremy King will relaunch this legendary restaurant.

One of London’s last treasured ‘Grande Dame’ restaurants, the revitalized Simpson’s will encompass two dining rooms – the Grand Divan and Romano’s; two bars – Simpson’s Bar and Nellie’s; and a private ballroom seating 100 – the Assembly Room. Working with the rich history and architecture of the Listed building, many of its period features will be retained, as will the roasts carved table-side from antique silver-domed trolleys in the Grand Divan. Food throughout will be British at its core, with a meal in the Grand Divan being a rather traditional affair and Romano’s offering a more flexible service at a lower price point.

“If anyone can bring Simpson's back to its finest, it's Jeremy King.”
